Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic champion, etched his name in history once more by securing India’s first-ever gold medal in the World Athletics Championships 2023 javelin throw final. With a remarkable throw of 88.17 meters, Chopra’s achievement marks a significant milestone for Indian athletics on the global stage.

Celebrations abound as an unprecedented achievement unfolded for India. Notably, three Indian athletes secured top-eight finishes in the javelin throw event, signaling a remarkable collective effort. Kishore Jena (84.77m) and DP Manu (84.14m) claimed the fifth and sixth positions, collectively showcasing India’s prowess in this event.

In yet another groundbreaking moment, the men’s 4x400m relay team, composed of Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Ajmal Variyathodi, and Rajesh Ramesh, secured a commendable fifth-place finish. Their performance illuminated the strength of India’s relay runners on the international stage.
