Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ event at Ayodhya in Ram temple on January 22, 2024. This occasion marks the placement of Lord Ram’s idol inside the temple.

A Landmark Supreme Court Ruling

The backdrop to this development lies in the 2019 Supreme Court ruling that decisively settled the Ayodhya land dispute. The judgment specified that the Ram Mandir would be constructed at the contested 2.77-acre site. Moreover, the ruling held that Muslims would be allocated an alternate 5-acre plot in Dhannipur to construct the Babri Masjid.

Unity and Inclusivity

The Prime Minister’s visit to Ayodhya has huge importance, not just for its religious import, but for the broader message it conveys – the message of unity and inclusivity. The foundation stone for the Ram temple is marked as a pivotal moment in the history of Ayodhya, signifying the resolution of a longstanding dispute. Now, Muslims in Ayodhya are expressing a similar hope for constructing the Babri Masjid.

Their request is symbolic of the desire for communal harmony and coexistence. It reflects the aspiration to move forward, leaving behind the wounds of the past, and embracing a future where people of different faiths can live together in peace.

The Spirit of Ayodhya

Ayodhya, the sacred city that embodies the ideals of Lord Ram, is poised to witness another momentous chapter in its rich history. The forthcoming events symbolize the city’s commitment to tolerance, acceptance, and the cohabitation of diverse cultures.

As Prime Minister Modi prepares to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ event, the eyes of the nation are on Ayodhya, where the echo of harmony resonates, and the aspiration for unity shines brightly. The request of the Muslim community adds an encouraging layer to this narrative, reminding us that in the spirit of Ayodhya, there is room for the dreams and hopes of all its people.
