A dispute has arisen between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the funding for the beautification and development work carried out in preparation for the G20 Summit. The BJP contends that the work done by the AAP-led Delhi government and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was made possible through funds provided by the Central government.

In response, the AAP administration in the national capital has expressed astonishment at the BJP’s claims, asserting that it is disconcerting to witness the BJP attempting to claim credit for the developmental efforts undertaken by the city government.

Virendra Sachdeva, the Delhi BJP president, asserted that even the concept of wall paintings was initially introduced by the Centre, specifically in the Pragati Maidan tunnel and subsequently in the NDMC area.

Sachdeva challenged Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to point out a single beautification or development project carried out by his government in preparation for the G20 Summit. The Delhi BJP plans to hold a press conference to present a comprehensive list of G20-related development endeavors in the city, all funded by the Centre.

The AAP government countered by accusing the BJP of engaging in unproductive political maneuvers, particularly during a time when India is set to host the G20 Summit. The AAP emphasized that the funds allocated by the Central government were only utilized for NDMC and NHAI roads, while all other expenses on PWD and MCD roads were borne by the respective Delhi government bodies.

Critiquing the BJP’s focus on political gamesmanship, the AAP expressed that such tactics do not serve the nation’s interests, especially when India is poised to lead during the G20 Summit. The emphasis should be on national progress, not political wrangling, according to the AAP’s perspective.

In a surprising twist, Kylian Mbappe has turned down Paris Saint-Germain’s latest contract offer, sparking fresh rumors about his future. The 24-year-old forward’s rejection comes after his recent return to the PSG first-team.

While PSG hoped to secure his commitment, Mbappe’s decision has caught the attention of Real Madrid. The Spanish club is ready to engage in talks if given the green light.

Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid’s manager, had earlier ruled out a move due to PSG’s high asking price for the world-class player. However, Mbappe’s refusal puts PSG in a tough spot, as he could potentially leave as a free agent next year.

French national team manager Didier Deschamps has denied influencing Mbappe’s return to PSG’s first team. The player had been on the transfer list after not extending his contract, leading to his temporary exclusion.

In a separate report, Sports Brief indicates that Real Madrid is preparing a final bid for Mbappe, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to this summer’s transfer drama.
